After a first edition that landed hard enough to guarantee a second, The Magic of Tomorrowland is coming back to Shanghai’s HERO DOME on October 17 and 18, and this time it’s building its entire concept around water.

The event is Tomorrowland’s official immersive indoor experience in China, and this year’s theme, Planaxis, pulls the People of Tomorrow into a fully realized underwater world, built through lighting, staging, and a curved screen stretching 99 meters along the venue’s Huangpu riverside location. Where the outdoor festival in Belgium spreads its storytelling across acres of open ground, this version compresses the same ambition into one enclosed room and lets the screen do a lot of the heavy lifting.

Two Nights, Two Different Shows

The lineup splits cleanly across the two dates rather than repeating. October 17 brings Axwell, Bhaskar, Carly Wilford, a Cassian and Kevin de Vries back to back, DJ Sally, Hauzer, Linska, Lost Frequencies, MC Stretch, Morten, and Nosi. October 18 resets the bill almost entirely, running Alison Wonderland, an ARTBAT and R3HAB back to back, Bhaskar again, Carly Wilford again, Evin King, Joel Corry, Mansun Lui, MC Stretch, Miss Monique, Nosi, and Tiësto closing things out. It means genuinely different nights rather than a single show split in half, and a real incentive to be there for both.

What Comes With a Ticket

Standard entry gets you in the room, but a GA Plus upgrade adds fast track entry, access to exclusive areas including the Harbour Villa, and a run of additional spaces built specifically for the event. Every ticket also operates under a real name, single entry policy, meaning the identity document used at purchase has to match the person walking through the door, and once you leave, that’s it for the night, there’s no re-entry.

There’s also the Treasure Case, a limited edition collectible tied to the festival’s long running tradition of physical keepsakes. Anyone who buys a ticket can message customer service through the official ticketing platform with the keyword “Tomorrowland” to register for one, with distribution details to follow through official channels closer to the event.

Food and drink will be available inside designated dining areas, though nothing can be brought in from outside, and on site medical teams will be present for the full run of the event.
